Sedona Toys for Tots Bike Day

Sedona Toys for Tots provides bikes for kids ages 4 - 8 years old. What an exciting day when you get a new bike!

Seven Canyons Golf Resort members not only donated 288 toys but 22 bikes. Sedona Toys for Tots purchased the other 42 bicycles from Walmart with the expert help of SAVCO member, Ben Lopez and Mark Devereux of the Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition. Twenty-five bikes were special Black Friday purchases arriving in boxes to be assembled.

The word went out that we needed help! SAVCO and Verde Valley Cyclist Coalition members signed up. What a great turn out! The bikes were all assembled Sunday morning and ready for the kids to show up that afternoon.

Sedona Realtor, Mike Wise, agreed to let Sedona Toys for Tots use his building to assemble the bikes. What a life saver!

Kari Skaggs contacted local businesses and they helped provide a spread that kept everyone going.

Kim Austin of Coconino County Safe Kids provided and fit helmets to all the kids who received bikes. Amanda Stanfield from Sedona Oak Creek School District checked in the families. Sedona Fire District ran a bike rodeo, teaching the new bike owners how to safely ride their new bikes.

With the help of so many members of our community, Sedona Toys for Tots distributed new bikes to 65 children. What an exciting day! A special thanks goes to Annie Garvey for taking such great pictures..
