89 Flags on 89A
To honor those who have Served our country and to recognize the ultimate cost of Freedom, SAVCO is proud to fly Flags in celebration and remembrance during major National holidays. Longtime SAVCO member Ray Stueve worked tirelessly over the years with ADOT, Sedona Parks & Recreation, and the City of Sedona to make this Flag Program possible. Starting in 2017, eight times a year we proudly display the U.S. Colors along 89A in West Sedona from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road. This has become known as the “89 Flags on 89A” project. SAVCO expanded this visual display to Uptown Sedona in 2020. Gratefully, the local Kiwanis Club stepped up to manage the installation of 28 additional Flags. Additional Flags authorized include the Military Prisoner of War/Missing in Action and the New First Responders Flag.
