Volunteer Opportunity: Grant Writer

SAVCO (Sedona Area Veterans Community Outreach) is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Grant Writer to help secure funding for our vital programs serving veterans, students, and the greater Sedona community.

As a volunteer Grant Writer, you’ll play a key role in helping us continue and expand our impact. Your work will directly support initiatives such as scholarships, emergency assistance for veterans, community events, and educational outreach.

Responsibilities:

• Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporations

• Write and submit compelling grant proposals that align with SAVCO’s mission

• Collaborate with board members and program leads to gather necessary information

• Track deadlines and ensure timely submissions

• Assist in preparing reports or follow-up documentation for awarded grants

Ideal Skills:

• Strong written communication

• Attention to detail and organization

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Familiarity with nonprofit funding (preferred but not required)

• Passion for community service and veteran support
