Previous Scholarship Winners

“When looking back at my first year at ASU, I enjoyed having the freedom to take classes I enjoyed and exploring my major. I am currently a neuroscience major and plan to continue my path on a pre-med track. I aim to attend medical school or pursue my master’s in clinical studies, both of which include a medical background. To sum up my first year at ASU, I enjoyed it and used my time wisely. I enjoyed having a financial burden off my shoulders and my parents. However, as the second year comes, I am most grateful to still have a scholarship that supports me. It takes a burden off my shoulders, yet again, and allows me to pursue my education fully while balancing my life stress-free.” – Madeline Badorek, 2024 Scholarship Recipient

Alexis Bogatyrew plans on attending Yavapai College and studying Management and maybe someday starting a business of his own. Jack Ross presented Alexis with SAVCO’s first Trade/Vocational Scholarship of $2,000.

“I’ve been taking summer classes, and thanks to that, I’m actually on track to graduate earlier than expected. I also just want to say thank you so much for the scholarship. It’s made such a difference in both my education and my personal journey. A lot has changed for me over the past year! I switched my major to Engineering, which has opened up so many new possibilities. I also accepted a full-time role at BMO Bank as an Associate Banker where I’ve honestly learned so much, gained valuable experience and found a real interest in finance. Thank you again for your support, it really means the world to me, and I’m so grateful for the opportunities you’ve helped make possible.” – Luz Maria Hernandez Chaparro, 2023 SAVCO Scholarship Recipient

“As I enter into my final year at GCU, I am beyond thankful for the support SAVCO has provided to me throughout my college career. I remember receiving the award and feeling so genuinely supported, the members were all so proud of me, inviting me to the community meeting to get to know me and proudly cheer me on as I stepped into college and adulthood. The scholarship and presence of the SAVCO community does more for the college student than you would realize! It is so encouraging to know there is a group who believe in me, are cheering me on, and can see me achieving my goals sometimes more than I can.” – Hannah Lanchbury, 2022 SAVCO Scholarship Recipient
